No one came to church that we invited. One guy said he had to cook for a birthday thing so that’s why he couldn’t come. The girl was drunk the night before Sunday, so she didn’t want to come at all. All the others just slept or were too busy (for God) (that’s a horrible excuse). All of our baptismal dates fell through. I can’t think of anything to help this ward grow.
I’m talking to members and the President about doing a class for members and investigadores about finances, like Dave Ramsey and investment stuff, because they have not a clue what is out there that could help them save what little money they have. There are a few familias that I really want to help out. They give all they have to the ward and the missionaries even though they don’t have much for themselves.
We did have a really spiritual lesson with a guy named Juan. He is in a wheelchair after a serious accident with a semi tire, and because of that he had to give his kids to his ex wife. He is experiencing pain physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The missionaries have been visiting him for 3 years, and he hasn’t come to church. He feels like the Lord has done this and has a reason for it, but he can’t see the reason. We told him we don’t have the answer for that. We talked about the atonement of Jesucristo and how he knows what he is feeling. We then were very direct with him and told him that the help and happiness he is looking for is in La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Ultimos Dias. We shared our testimonies and gave him some promises as representatives of Jesus Christ. I was feeling so many emotions at once. He then told us he would come to church.
Yep that’s basically all that happened this week.
