Week 49

Well this week was pretty busy, and luckily I’m almost not sick anymore.

To start off, we drove down to Choele Choel to close a pension. We had to clean everything that they left behind. We found a pizza that looked like it was a vegetable pizza. Everything on that thing was green and white. Then we went to my old area, Huergo, to drop off all the desks and closets we had. I really wanted to go and visit Nerio and Maria, but we couldn’t. That’s about the highlight of my week.

I’ve been buying bus tickets for a lot of people, and we have also been moving the pension of the assistants. We finished this morning.

I should get my international license this week, so that should be pretty cool. I’m tired of sitting in the passenger seat.

As far as investigators go, we don’t have many. But we have contacted some really good people. I’ll let you guys know how they go when we start teaching them. Being with Elder Mendoza is really fun. I really want to go visit him and Elder Rosas in Chile when I get back.

Fa, I just realized that in a week or two I’ll hit my one year mark. I’m not ready for that. I’m not ready to leave the people I know here. If anyone reads this and is thinking about not serving a mission, I would advise you to think about it again. I have come to love the people here. Even though I am always working with the people that have the most problems out of everyone, I can feel the love God has for them. The mission isn’t easy, but that’s fine. It wasn’t meant to be a vacation. You will always be grateful for the things you learn and the better person you are becoming. If I could take your free will and make you serve a mission, I would. It is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

Well I don’t have much more to say, but I hope that all of you guys back home are doing what you can to actually study, not just read the scriptures, and that you are putting God first in your lives. I know if we can do just those two things we can make it to the celestial kingdom with everyone in our families and we can be happy while we are doing it.

Week 48

Well not much this week. I like being secretary. We are able to do a lot of stuff. I was able to try mate, and it was horrible. It really tasted like it was the leaves off of hay and they soaked it in water, but besides that the idea of mate is pretty cool.

We also had a baptism this week, but I forgot my camera so I don’t have any pictures.

Also we are in the middle of transfers so I am super busy trying to help missionaries that can’t figure out how to buy a simple bus ticket. I have gotten about 7 calls in the past 15 minutes that I have been writing this letter, but we got them all taken care of so we should be good for a while.

We haven’t really done anything here. I’ve just been making spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel.

I have been super sick here too. I don’t know why, but I have lost like 7 kilos, that’s bad. I have not a clue how many pounds that is, but I know it’s a lot. It also doesn’t help that I haven’t had a good breakfast in a week and a half, but this week should be better. I’m just getting over my sickness, and I feel a lot better.

I like the oportunidad to be the comp of Elder Mendoza again. We get along great. We are still waiting for my license. We are ordering some kind of license that makes it legal for me to drive anywhere, so that will be cool. The thing is it takes like 5 weeks to get here, putcha, but it will get here eventually.

I’m learning a ton in the office. There’s a lot that goes on here that normal missionaries don’t know. And I’m the guy who basically knows everything about everything in the mission because everything goes through me. It’s pretty cool, but I’m always busy.

That’s about it. Wish Colter a happy birthday from me.

Love you All,
Elder Nuevo hombre

Week 47

Well lots of things happened this week. I don’t know if I’m going to have more stress or less stress. We had another emergency transfer. The President wants me to be his secretary. Right now I’m in the office of the mission, and they are teaching me a few things about what I need to do as a secretary. It should be fun. I also can’t wait to get my license here so I can drive the truck.

I left Huergo, and now my area is Lemi, Neuquen. And my new comp is none other than Elder Mendoza de Concepcion Chile. We are all going to have a ton of fun here in the office, and transfers are coming up, so it’s about to get real crazy, jaja.

This week I do have a lot of photos, so I’ll send them in a different email. But this week was a lot better, and I’m glad I’m here.

I about died in lunch yesterday. We went to a guy’s house that had all these dishes dirty with cat hair and dirt, and he didn’t clean them. So when he left the house my comp hurried and washed them all off the best he could before he got back. I’ll have lots of stories to share when I get back.

Well it sounds like you all had a good week. I miss you all and love you all!

......Oh and Nerio y Maria accepted a baptismal date. It was great, but I can’t help them progress anymore, so I’ll have to just wait and see if they get baptized.

Still in Huergo...

Week 46

I don’t know where to begin. We did finally get to do some work. We found a ton of people that are ready to be baptized, and I am positive that the next transfer there will be somewhere around 8 baptisms, and about 15 inactives will come back to church. It’s been hard, but we have been working a ton.

The zone leaders came and did splits with us, and that was fun. I got to work with my old comp, Elder Rosas. I learned a lot, and we had a fun time teaching together again.

Every day is a choice whether I want to go home or not. Not because I want to go home, but because I want to punch my comp in the face. Every day he is harder to deal with. He may be 2 years older than me, but he acts like he is 16. But don’t worry, I won’t hit him, and I’m trying to change the way I think and the way I feel. The good news is I can still teach with him so that’s good. Well I only have 2 more weeks with Satan, so that’s also pretty good.

We found a family from Bolivia. They are super nice. They gave me a new bag to carry my scriptures because mine was all broken and old. They also gave me some new shoes. They are a little small, but it’s the thought that counts. They also offered to repair my shoes that I have right now. They are just super nice. I made a banana bread that we shared with them. They also want to have us over to share a lunch with them. Their names are Maria y Nerio, and they have 3 kids and 2 of them can be baptized, I think. I’m not sure how old they are exactly, but they might be 8 years old.

That was about it for this week, and sorry I didn’t take pictures. I don’t feel all that safe in this city to carry my camera.

That’s all for this week

Week 45

Well not much happened [this week]. My comp has 8 days rest that he has to stay in the pension, and he had a ton of infection in his heel. If you remember the lamb we had that had that sore on the back of his neck, and how we had to cut it open and get all the infection out, it was about like that with my comp. He cut it open and pus and blood came oozing out. It was horrible! We got a video of it. And now that he did that, it doesn’t hurt anymore and he can sleep in the night, so that’s good.

We have played a lot of Uno. And I probably shouldn’t have done this, but I taught my comp poker, haha. I wanted to win his cookies, but he didn’t want to do that. We are a little better now. I just have to ignore basically every stupid thing he says and have a ton of patience with him.

I don’t think I have fotos, but I’ll check. Maybe I’ll send a pic of my comps foot.

Bueno. You can tell Joe that there can only be one person that is the best at cleaning cars, and that’s me, haha.

Well that’s all for now. Love you all.
–Elder Nuevohombre

I’ll be sure to have pics the next week.
