Week 31
Well not much new [this week]. We have had a lot of investigadores drop us, but we have found new ones. It was amazing. One day this week we had 4 lessons and we got a baptismal date. We taught a lady the Plan of Salvacion lesson and then invited her to be baptized and she said yes. The date is for the 14 of May, but it already can’t happen that day because she didn’t attend church. I hope we can teach her again this week. A lot of people are one and done.

This is a member from Allen that came to check our heater (for an inspection).. so that was a cool reunion. He said my Spanish is so much better right now.

Week 30
Well.. not much to report on. I’m still stuck here in this area, but at least I kept my comp, Elder Elwood. Yep, that’s about it. We saw some pretty interesting things here, but I can't tell you about them over email. I’ll write them down and maybe I’ll tell you them over Skype.
I’m glad it’s raining up there. It looks so cool and clean there. Here if you see a field, it's usually covered in trash or junk. I'm still waiting to see something beautiful here, but all I’ve seen is dirt, and some sunsets.
I might learn how to cut hair on my mission. I’m about to buy a machina para hacer lo.
I made some peach cobbler in the oven for a family night activity. It didn't turn out great, but everyone here loved it. We didn't even have ice cream with it. (helado)
I’m surprised at how well I can talk and communicate with people. It seems like just yesterday I was learning to pray in Spanish.
I do miss America very much. We are so spoiled to live in America. We were told a story from a member who went to his neighbor's house to start his stove because he didn't have matches, and he said that all he had was a stove, a sink, and table. At least he has the house for right now. We hear so many things that happen to people and other things that happen just because people are lazy, greedy, and dishonest. We are about the only people here (missionaries) that try and bring joy to people’s lives.
I was telling a member how we always have our doors unlocked, and he said if they did that here, people would walk into your house even if you are home and take what they want or hurt you if you tried to do anything. (I think in his neighborhood) And there are so many areas us as missionaries can't go because we would get robbed as soon as we entered the city. Satan has the hearts of a lot of these people. Soooo, be thankful you live in America where you can plan on being on the earth a week later, and how you can basically do whatever you want.
I love the people here, they can barely afford to feed their families, and they feed the missionaries every week too. ALWAYS THANK GOD FOR WHAT YOU HAVE AND WHAT YOU ARE BLESSED WITH...I know I didn't do enough of that before the mission.

Week 29
Well not much to report. This next week is transfers, and I don’t know if I want to go or stay. We have some people that it’s possible that they could be baptized, but the church is so far away they would probably go inactive after.....We really need more churches, but for that we need members that pay tithing. It’s super hard to get anything done in this area.
I just found out today that one of the [missionaries] in my district just went home. I don’t know what happened.
Yep that is all really.... If you have recipes for like hard fudge, that would be great, along with any other easy recipe that you have. Sweets are the best.

Week 28
Well I don’t have much to say. [This week] was really the same as last week. Conference was great. We had a gringo room so we didn’t have to listen to it in Spanish. We could have understood it, but it would have been really annoying with the two voices.
We have two different people that I hope will turn out to be good investigadores, I’ll tell you more about them when I find out more about them.
Overall our numbers are really low, and it’s kind of getting me down. We are working a ton, but people just don’t want it here. There are some that want it but are never home, or their schedule doesn’t line up with ours, or we can only teach them on Mondays. Oh well, hopefully something good comes out of all this.
My comp. is still good. I’m learning how to speak more correctly from him than [from] my Latino comps, so that is great. It’s awesome having a comp that knows about a lot of stuff that you do.

Week 27
Como estan? Not much going on here. We had our best day yesterday in this area! We had three lessons, and we got three new people to teach.
My Spanish is where I can talk with anyone, anytime, anywhere. Elder Elwood said I yelled in my sleep ´´todo día,´´ then went back to snoring. So I must have the language down if I can do it in my sleep, haha. This transfer I’ve been a really crazy sleeper. I’ve got lots of stories, and my comp has videos. haha.
Other than that, I don’t have much to say. Nothing really is happening in this area right now. There are a lot of problem people, and we contact a lot,,,,,, We also went and gave a lesson to this drunk dude. He asked us if we cared if he smoked weed during the lesson,,,,,Umm yesss, please don’t. Luckily he didn’t, so we didn’t end up getting high. So that was a good thing. haha.

He is a super cool missionary from Mexico. A lot of people do that. You think they are behind you smiling, but they make it look like they are trying to kiss you.

Week 26
Well this week was a little better than the weeks past. We have just about contacted every door that we can in our area. We got a text from a recent convert that said he didn’t want us to come back and visit him. That’s kind of sad. When we told the bishopric about that, he said, “Maybe we should have someone visit him.” That’s a great idea. Next time you should send someone to visit them before they make the decision that they want nothing to do with us. It would be a whole lot easier to keep them in church.
That’s cool Macy is playing tennis. I got a package from Grandma Jean that had Easter Reese’s and peanut butter and peanuts....the Reese’s she sent were the best because when they melt or spend so much time how they are when they ship, the wrappers are the worst. But these ones were normal when they got here, they were great!
Well that’s really all this week. We have done a lot of contacting because we have no one to teach. It helps me practice my Spanish a lot more when I’m talking to people that I don’t know. But a lot of them are drunk and can’t understand my accent and they themselves don’t speak very good. But that’s about it.

I got a package from Grandma Jean that had Easter Reese’s and peanut butter and peanuts....the Reese’s she sent were the best because when they melt or spend so much time how they are when they ship, the wrappers are the worst. But these ones were normal when they got here, they were great!

Week 25
Well not much happened this week. Me and Elder Elwood are having a ton of fun. It’s nice having someone I can quote movies with. We are also rapping in English and trying to translate into Spanish.
The members here don’t help too much, but we are working on that a lot. I’m still learning the area. Our pension was a mess. There were sooooo many spiders. The first day I killed like 20. And there are still spiders, but every time I see one I kill it. There are a few that look poisonous, but I’m not a spider expert. Rusty would have hated it here, but me and Elder Elwood have cleaned up the pension pretty good.
Elder Elwood is great. He is from Boise, Idaho, and he doesn’t like potatoes. It’s kind of funny. This week I’ve talked a lot about motorbikes and trucks lately, it’s kind of fun.
We also worked out with this recent convert. This was about a week ago, and my arms are still sore, but at least I can straighten them right now, haha.
